Redefining Nude is a campaign for Pantone that challenges the meaning of the word "nude." Originally tied to light, Western-centric skin tones, the term fails to represent the true range of human skin. The campaign redefines nude: it isn't one color, it's about feeling good in your own skin.

The word "nude" has been stuck to a single skin tone. Derived from the Latin nudus, meaning bare, the color came to signify one thing: light, Western-European skin. In reality, skin tones are endless

Created together with Hasan & Partners, this campaign redefines nude for good. The imagery makes the point plainly: associating a nude tone with just one skin color is exclusionary, when there are as many shades as there are people. The work ties into Pantone's wider inclusivity efforts, including the PANTONE SkinTone guide and the renaming of color 12-0911 from Nude to Peach Taffy

Nude is not just one color. It's about feeling good in your own skin.
